Amazon launches new monthly Prime Membership option for Canadians

Prime Book Box enables families to receive a box of children's books every month, every two months, or only once every three months.

Those possessing a sharp mathematical mind will, of course, have noticed that the cost of Prime membership paid monthly for the year will amount to more than the annual $79 membership.

Shoppers in Canada pay $79 for an annual Prime membership, which hasn't changed since Prime launched there in 2013.

Amazon Canada today introduced a monthly membership option for Prime members.

The service is now available to Canadian customers, who can try out the service with a 30-day trial, the release said.

Since then, Paytm's platform has seen manifold growth in transactions as well as expansion in number of users. The company crossed an annual gross transaction run-rate of Dollars 29 billion in May this year.

There's a financial benefit in getting the books via the box rather than purchasing them individually - Amazon says customers save up to 35-percent per box compared to list price. "The selection of books to choose from was great and I appreciate the hardcover format".

Prime Book Box is ideal for readers (and future book lovers) from baby to 12 years old.

This expanded version of Prime Book Box will undoubtedly please children and parents, but it would be nice to see Amazon expand the program to cover more age groups.

"Our Editors read thousands of books every year to find selections your reader will enjoy again and again", the company said on a description page for its service. "Over the past few months, it's been both exciting and rewarding to hear that Prime Book Box is encouraging kids to spend more time reading".
