Amazon Announce The Grand Tour Game For PlayStation 4 And Xbox One

Why it matters: Amazon reportedly poured a lot of money into landing the former Top Gear hosts for its original series The Grand Tour. Old Top Gear hosts Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May took a detour to Amazon a few years ago, where they've been working on their own auto show, The Grand Tour.

As Eurogamer reports, the game is being produced by Amazon, the producers of the hosting trio's latest show The Grand Tour, which they started after their departure from b0th Top Gear and the BBC following several Clarkson-related controversies. While Amazon didn't list a solid release date, it's slated for release alongside the show's third season.

Amazon Game Studios in Seattle created The Grand Tour Game, using Amazon's own game-specific tech, in addition to its in-house web services. Each episode will feature exotic cars, locations including the Eboladrome test track, and challenges from each week's episode.

The Grand Tour Game will also do four-player split-screen and get humorously on-brand power-ups like High Tea and More Horsepowers. "Obviously not literally, it's just a game, so please don't go through the drawers of my desk".

There's also the promise of four-player splitscreen support, while Clarkson, Hammond, and May will be providing voice overs. "The Grand Tour Game" is an episodic racing title based on the automobile-themed show starring Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May.
