Armed bystander stops gunman at crowded Titusville park, police say

The gunman, police say, had engaged in a fistfight earlier on during the back-to-school event billed as "Peace in the City", then left around 5:20 p.m., retrieved a gun and returned to Isaac Campbell Park, ABC affiliate WFTV reports. One of the individuals involved in the fight later came back to the park where the back-to-school event was ongoing and opened fire, endangering the lives of dozens of children.

Titusville Police are investigating a shooting Saturday at a crowded park that was stopped when an armed bystander shot the suspect, a department spokeswoman said. "To have this happen at an event for the kids and peace in the city it's just insane to me; it's just unbelievable".

Harvey said he was playing music for the event when he was startled by the gunfire, which he didn't recognize at first.

"When I turned around, I'm like who shot the firecrackers?" he told ABC News.

The video shows adults and kids with backpacks shouting and running in different directions. "It was just total chaos".

Mobile Essentials offers unlimited data with no frills
However, Sprint, AT&T and Verizon essentially moved in the opposite direction by each adding a more expensive tier of service. The pricing breaks down as follows: The first line on T-Mobile Essentials costs $60 per month, while the second costs $30.

"We are extremely grateful that nobody else was injured in this incident", Deputy Chief Todd Hutchinson said in a statement.

As families tried to hide, police say a witness pulled out his licensed gun and took the gunman down.

The gunman is still in the hospital with life-threatening injuries from the gunshot to his head.

Authorities say no charges are expected against the bystander, who waited for officers to arrive at the scene and was fully cooperative with the investigation.
