Leadership spill Peter Dutton's swipe at Malcolm Turnbull

On Sunday, Morrison announced a reshuffle that excluded former Nationals leader Barnaby Joyce and former prime minister Abbott from the ministry, but proposed creating new special envoy roles for them to deal with drought and Indigenous affairs.

However, on Tuesday last week, after Dutton was unsuccessful in taking leadership of the Australian Liberal Party from Turnbull when the first of several internal party votes saw the prime minister retain his title as chief, Dutton resigned from Home Affairs and took a seat on the backbench while Morrison took interim responsibility of DHA.

"I will remain on the backbench as a strong voice for Western Australia", Ms Bishop said in a statement soon after she arrived back in her home state.

She added she hasn't yet decided whether she will run for office in the country's next general election, set for 2019.

She served as minister for education and science and for women before becoming foreign minister in Tony Abbott's government in 2013.

"Cormann rumoured to be putting some WA votes behind Julie Bishop in round 1", a message purporting to be from Infrastructure Minister Paul Fletcher broadcast on Insiders read.

"May I express my fond hope that in the weeks and months and years to come, political success will be determined again more by character and less by polling".

Morrison went on to defeat Dutton by a vote of 45-40.

That was the only game in which Hawaii allowed any runs, so Hawaii played error-free baseball in four of the five games. With a hurricane threatening back home, it was an emotional time for the Hawaiian team and their families.

The possibility that Ms Bishop could leave Parliament before the next election will be a major concern for Mr Morrison, Mr Turnbull's former treasurer, because it opens the possibility of another by-election being held for her seat.

Christopher Pyne was promoted to oversee defense and Steven Ciobo was named minister for the defense industry.

Wind-farm critic and Dutton supporter Angus Taylor was chosen as energy minister, tasked with the job of lowering soaring electricity prices.

But Finance Minister Mathias Cormann says he doesn't believe she was the victim of dirty tricks.

Morrison had previously announced his Deputy Josh Frydenberg would assume his former role as treasurer.

In an interview with The New York Times, Dutton said the experience has been a "love through the internet" that he'll always remember.

In June, lawmakers overwhelmingly passed bills to crack down on foreign interference after Turnbull said change was needed to stop reported meddling by China and other nations in the nation's government, media and universities.
