The "tipping point" that led Jennifer Garner to stage an intervention and get estranged husband Ben Affleck into rehab came from a photo. The mom arrived at the actor's home in the Pacific Palisades with her bodyguard in tow on Wednesday afternoon, where the actress staged an intervention for the father of their three children, Violet, Serafina and Samuel. TMZ's sources say the former couple immediately left for a rehab facility.

Last year, Ben revealed on his Facebook page that he completed a stint in rehab.

On August 13, the Oscar victor was seen leaving an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting.

This news comes in the midst of several sightings of Affleck with Playboy Model Shawna Sexton in Malibu and the greater Los Angeles area over the last week. This is the third time that the Oscar victor has sought treatment for his alcohol issues. He's also been spotted outside of meditation classes as well as meetings.

Affleck went to rehab for the first time in 2001.

An unnamed source told the entertainment magazine that the 46-year-old Oscar victor "knew he needed help and was vocal about it".

"I have completed treatment for alcohol addiction; something I've dealt with in the past and will continue to confront", he wrote on social media.

"I want my kids to know there is no shame in getting help when you need it, and to be a source of strength for anyone out there who needs help but is afraid to take the first step".
