Optiemus Infracom announces the overpriced BlackBerry Evolve and Evolve X

In markets like the US, TCL is the brand responsible for manufacturing and selling BlackBerry phones.

But with the Evolve and the Evolve X, it would be the other way round. Mostly in the name of the Ghost and the Ghost Pro which also happen to be their codenames. Unlike the DTEK phones, the Evolve and the Evolve X, feature tall near edge-to-edge displays with an unusual aspect ratio of 18:9. It isn't designed for multimedia consumption. While the BlackBerry Evolve will be available from mid of September 2018 for Rs. 24,990. Rumours suggest that the dual-rear cameras could provide optical zoom, as well as low light enhancements.

The Evolve and Evolve X are priced on the higher side if compared to the competition in with similar set of specifications. The Evolve is available with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage and the Evolve X has 6GB RAM and 64GB storage. The Evolve X runs Android 8.1 Oreo and is backed by a 4,000mAh battery with support for both Qualcomm's Quick Charge 3.0 and wireless charging. While the video does not give clear visuals of the front of either phones, it shows the phone's back, that can be seen sporting dual-rear cameras with flash support, as well as a fingerprint scanner.

But private transportation experts say there are so many factors involved that the 1,000 lives saved figure is questionable. More than a dozen states follow California's standards, amounting to about 40 percent of the country's new-vehicle market.

The devices have facial recognition and fast fingerprint unlock functionalities.

The Evolve, meanwhile, is the same phone as the Evolve X with toned down specs. It has the same software and the same selfie camera as well. The Evolve is powered by a Snapdragon 450, while the Evolve X features the much more powerful Snapdragon 660. The rear cameras also include dual-tone LED flash and 6P lens. Between the two, there are a few touches that set them apart. The Evolve X has a series 7 aluminum frame and supports Dolby Atmos. Unlike the KEY2 which comes with a QWERTY physical keyboard, the Evolve lineup will go traditional with a 5.99-inch FHD+ LTPS display that has a resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels, 500 nits of brightness and an oleophobic coating on top.

Both handsets are meant for India with the Evolve X expected to make its way to retail via Amazon sometime at the end of August and will cost ₹34,990 or around $510 Dollars. There are better phones on the market that are available at lesser pricing than these two. The Evolve will also be available through Amazon but will arrive sometime in September priced at ₹24,990 or around $364 United States dollars. Reliance Jio is offering a cashback of Rs 3,950 and ICICI Bank is providing a 5% cashback on EMI transactions for its credit card holders.
