BlackBerry KEY2 LE leak tips a keyboard for the masses

By looking at the leaked photo, the KEY2 LE will have a slightly altered keyboard that's closer to the original Keyone while retaining some of the new functionalities like the shortcut key and the fingerprint reader integrated into the spacebar. This seems to be the official name, and, thanks to an anonymous tipster, we now know what to expect. Expected to launch as the BlackBerry KEY2 LE, the new device is yet to be officially revealed, but details are already leaking. What has been missing so far, though, has been the equivalent of the old BlackBerry Curve - a more affordable, midrange phone.

Compared to the KEY2, the KEY2 LE has a few lesser specs.

While the exact pricing and release date are not known yet, considering the KEY2 LE is a step down from the KEY2, we expect it to be cheaper than the $650 price-tag on the latter.

Puerto Rico concedes Hurricane Maria killed 1,427
Two bills were introduced in Congress in June in an attempt to establish a standard for counting deaths after a natural disaster. This year, Puerto Ricans laid thousands of pairs of shoes outside the island's Capitol building to represent the uncounted dead.

The processor is quite different from the Geekbench listing of the device which says it has a Snapdragon 660 processor. A refresh over last year's BlackBerry KEYone, the KEY2 comes with an upgraded keyboard, dual rear cameras, and better internals. 32- and 64GB versions should be available, with a smaller, 3,000mAh battery (vs 3,500mAh). Instead, the rumor suggests a 13-megapixel and 5-megapixel combination. That likely means no optical zoom, as the KEY2 gets, but instead the second sensor being used for depth purposes. Although, the style of the keyboard is more akin to the KeyOne than the Key2.

All that might be an acceptable compromise, if the price is right.

One rumored change that might disappoint potential purchasers of the lower priced KEY2 is the reduced capacity of the battery that will keep the phone's lights on.
