Boris Johnson under fire for ‘hate’ burqa comments

"As we openly discuss these issues, it is imperative that everybody is careful in the language that they use".

"I think Boris Johnson used language in describing people's appearance that has obviously caused offence".

She added that women should be free to wear the burqa if they chose to do so.

A majority of adults in the United Kingdom do not believe Boris Johnson's comments describing women who wear burkas as looking like "letter boxes" and "bank robbers" are racist, a poll has suggested.

There was no immediate sign that Johnson planned to back down. "If we fail to speak up for liberal values then we are simply yielding ground to reactionaries and extremists".

His remarks drew condemnation from former colleagues.

Numerous complaints have been lodged with the Conservative Party chairman Brandon Lewis, who oversees the party's code of conduct.

Kepa set to arrive in London after Chelsea pay record £72m fee
In his 154 appearances under Mourinho, Hiddink and Conte, the new Madrid signing also managed to win an FA Cup and EFL Cup title. Personal terms will now be discussed and if true, Kepa will be in London tomorrow for a medical and so on.

Some suspected Johnson's burka comments were meant to boost his appeal among right-wing members of the party.

Johnson has been in direct communication with Bannon in recent months, according to media reports.

"These remarks are not only deeply offensive, but are nothing to do with protecting the rights of any woman of Muslim faith or otherwise, and are instead everything to do with shoring up her choice of Tory party leader, Boris Johnson, who is himself a
national disgrace".

Opposition MPs also directly attacked the Prime Minister and Mr Lewis for failing to act despite blatant Islamophobia.

But Johnson received support from some quarters, with Conservative MP Nadine Dorries saying he "did not go far enough".

Several European countries, including France, Belgium and Denmark, have banned face-covering veils in public, but none of Britain's main political parties supports such a restriction.
