Cowboys offensive lineman Zack Martin exited Saturday night's Cowboys-Bengals preseason game with a knee injury, the team announced.

The harsh reality of how quickly a season can change on an injury is omnipresent during the National Football League preseason, and you can forgive Cowboys fans for panicking after seeing star offensive lineman and All-Pro guard Zack Martin limp off from the Cowboys' Week 2 preseason game. The Cowboys were running a sweep play to the right, and Martin was cut low while pulling on a block by Bengals defender Dre Kirkpatrick.

Virginia Man Shot During Barbershop Argument Over Aretha Franklin Biopic
Michael Jermell Hatton , 44, allegedly pulled out a gun and shot the other man, Tony Jonathan Lundy , 47, once outside the shop. A witness said he'd heard two people "arguing over whether or not Halle Berry played or would play Aretha Franklin in a movie".

Jerry Jones provided an encouraging update on Martin after the game: "I just want to say we've got more to gain from [MRI on Sunday]", Jones told reporters, via Pro Football Talk's Charean Williams, "but from what we've seen, I'll sleep good tonight on Martin". The two-time All-Pro and four-time Pro Bowl selection signed a six-year extension worth $84 million with $40 million guaranteed this offseason when the Cowboys opted to extend his rookie contract.

Martin, 27, was selected by Dallas with the No. 16 pick of the 2014 draft.
