The 25-year-old singer broke her silence following her overdose on Sunday (August 5) and told fans that she would be taking "time to heal and focus on [her] sobriety and road to recovery".

Lovato, who has spoken openly in the past about her history of drug and alcohol abuse, thanked God, her friends and her fans, saying that their positive thoughts and prayers had helped her navigate "this hard time". Recently, the pop star released a song titled "Sober", in which she details experience with withdrawal and potential relapse.
