Aston Villa snap up Everton winger Yannick Bolasie

Aston Villa strengthened their squad on Saturday in a bid for a Premier League return with the season-long loan signing of Yannick Bolasie from Everton.

The DR Congo global played infrequently last season and has not featured under new manager Marco Silva this campaign, prompting his move on loan to the Championship.

The Congo global arrived at Goodison Park in 2016 from Crystal Palace in a move worth £30 million, but poor form and fitness issues have stilted the 29-year-old winger's progress.

However, his two-year stay on Merseyside hasn't been as successful as his four-year stint in Croydon was. "A club of this stature has to be in the Premier League", Bolasie told the club's website.

Packers trade QB Brett Hundley to Seahawks for 2019 draft pick
With one move, both the Green Bay Packers and Seattle Seahawks have settled their backup quarterback situations. Hundley started nine games for the Packers last season after Aaron Rodgers suffered a broken collarbone.

Villa reportedly fought off interest from Middlesbrough to sign Bolasie on loan, and was pictured at Villa Park during their 2-2 draw with Brentford on Wednesday. "It's Premier League everywhere you look", Bolasie added.

Kodjia endured an injury-ravaged campaign last season after a prolific debut campaign at Villa and looked back to his best as he equalised before half-time and then looped home a header in the 95th minute to rescue a point.

"I'm here to make myself smile again and enjoy the game", he said.

At the time he joined, he was the fourth signing of the summer transfer window for manager Ronald Koeman.
