Game of Thrones' Final Season Likely to Debut Late

HBO's President of Programming Casey Bloys said in July that this season will debut in the first half of 2019, which could still be the case with this news but it will be cutting it close.

Rumors started flying about a possible April 2019 release date when Maisie Williams was said to have stated the first episode will air in April, but the actress has since denied she said the information. However, a new interview with Game of Thrones' visual effects supervisor Joe Bauer indicated he and his team are only beginning to work on the eighth and final season. Season 7 began its six-episode run in July 2017.

In an interview with Huffington Post, Bauer revealed that the hit fantasy show will be eligible for the 2020 Emmys, not the 2019 Emmys.

"In two years we'll be eligible for the Season 8 work, which we're just beginning now", Bauer told Huffington Post, claiming the six-episode final season will reach the small screen sometime after May 31, 2019, making it eligible for the 2020 Emmys. "So much of it comes down to timing and all that stuff".

HBO is also working on Game of Thrones spin-offs.

Game of Thrones prequel Taking place thousands of years before the events of Game of Thrones, the series chronicles the world's descent from the golden Age of Heroes into its darkest hour.

Sujeil Lopez told the New York Times that her 25-year-old son had been shot in the nipple, the hand, and another area of his body. The shooting took place at the GLHF Game Bar in Jacksonville Landing , where gamers were competing in the Madden 19 Tournament .

We're all eagerly anticipating season eight, big promises have been made and it's set to be a stonker of a send off for the show. It's the same reason why another HBO series, Sharp Objects, is ineligible for any Emmy nominations at next year's ceremony, as it premiered after the cutoff date.

This bit of news is surely disappointing for fans who hoped the season would resume in early 2019.

Bauer did confirm they are going to be still working on the series as of May.

Game of Thrones will return for its final season on HBO at some point in 2019. "I thought it'd be interesting to see", he said. Let us know in the comment section below!

"I think there will be divisions because people have grown to identify and like and hate various characters, so everybody has their version of how they want it to end based on those things, but looking at it objectively, I think the way it ends is the way it must end".

Whenever it finally airs, it sounds as if it will be worth the wait.
