GPU Turbo is Huawei's (parent company of Honor) proprietary technology which has been claimed by the company to notch up the performance by 60% and reduce power consumption by 30%.

Honor is particularly touting its GPU Turbo technology that's said to be a graphics processing acceleration technology achieved through hardware and software integration resulting in "smoother and faster mobile gaming experience". The Honor Play also comes with many AI additions which will help games run smoothly on the phone apart from providing vibration feedback while gaming. But it won't be the last. There is also the AI scene recognition which is a significant feature Honor is boasting about on its phone.

You can say that the Honor Play is a toned down Honor View 10. It comes with a metal unibody, U-shaped antenna lines on the top and bottom, and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.

The price of the Honor Play in India starts at Rs. 19,999 for the 4GB RAM variant and goes up to Rs. 23,999 for the 6GB RAM variant. The smartphone sports a 6.3-inch IPS LCD panel with 2340 x 1080 px resolution and 19.5:9 aspect ratio.

The Honor Play uses a custom Huawei layer called the EMUI 8.1 which is based on Android 8.1 (Oreo) OS. As many of you might be aware, Kirin 970 happens to power all the flagship Huawei and Honor smartphones released this year. Both the versions come with 64GB UFS2.1 storage which is further expandable by up to 256GB via a hybrid micro-SD card slot. At an event in India today, the company announced three devices, its gaming smartphone, the Honor Play.

On the camera front, Honor Play features dual-rear camers, with a 16MP primary sensor and a 2MP secondary lens. On the front is a 16MP camera with f/2.0 aperture. The front cam supports portrait selfies and face unlock. The new device will be sold exclusively on Amazon India's website and will go on sale on Monday. The handset will be up for grabs starting at 4 PM today on Amazon.in as well as the Honor online store.
