Some fell into the sea.

Authorities have confirmed that 313 people were injured in the collapse. Many of them were transported to nearby hospitals.

Three of those seriously injured were reportedly admitted to the Alvaro Cunqueiro hospital, while two were taken to the Povisa hospital, both in Vigo.

Emergency teams have ruled out the possibility of more people being under the platform.

The head of regional government of Galicia, Alberto Nunez Feijoo, said it was "chilling to see how that entire area collapsed".

Angel Poutas, 19, was at the concert and filmed the immediate aftermath of the collapse. The platform was built 20 years ago. The popular O Marisquiño annual festival draws a large crowd of youths and features music and sports such as skateboarding.

An investigation has been launched, according to city mayor Abel Caballero. He told Spanish radio the boardwalk collapsed "probably because of excessive weight".

Authorities said tracking efforts were on using thermal cameras to ensure none was trapped and an information post has been set up in the Plaza de la Estrella.

"The floor went down like an elevator", Aitana Alonso told local media.

"There were people underneath me, shouting that they couldn't get out".

People had to fight to get out of the water and climb out from under one another.
