In what has been a whirlwind of events, Jordan Clarkson will play for the Philippines in the 2018 Asian Games after all. Philippine Chef de Mission Richard Gomez confirmed that the Cavs guard will play in an article by CJ Marquez for CNN Philippines.

Filipino-American NBA player Jordan Clarkson will serve as Philippine flag-bearer.

This comes after numerous Filipino officials have expressed their disappointment over the National Basketball Association for not clearing Clarkson even if the Indonesian Asian Games Organizing Committee and the Cleveland Cavaliers have already given him the greenlight. We will have to plead to INASGOC (Indonesia Asian Games Organizing Committee) and OCA (Olympic Council of Asia) for his re-entry to play.

After rebooking his flights multiple times throughout this fiasco, Clarkson will finally get to join his teammates in Jakarta on Thursday, August 16, but won't make it to tip-off in their opening day game against Kazakhstan.

Carmelo Anthony apologized to OKC for not winning title
The 6-foot-8 Anthony is a 10-time All-Star and has won three gold medals in the Olympics. They lost to the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference finals last season.

"My heart is full of gratitude for everyone who helped make this happen", Clarkson said in a Facebook post, reacting to the NBA's decision to let him and others participate.

If Clarkson does miss the all-important game against Kazakhstan, his much-awaited PH debut will be against China on August 21.

In the last edition of the Asian Games in South Korea, the Philippine men's basketball team finished with a 3-4 record to land at the seventh spot.
