Lance Armstrong Hospitalized After Bloody Bike Crash

The 46-year-old athlete badly injured his face and was forced to go undergo a medical check in a local hospital to find out whether his head was injured in the crash.

No matter how good you are at something, eventually you're going to fall on your face doing it. Lance Armstrong learned that lesson in a very literal sense while riding his bike near Aspen, Colo., when he fell off his bike and bloodied his face.

The Tom Blake trail is in Snowmass Village, Colorado, and it's listed as an "intermediate" trail on the town's website.

Mountain biking is so damn fun. It's not clear what caused the 7-time Tour de France champion to wipe out.

Armstrong won seven Tour de France titles with the U.S. Postal Service team but he was stripped of those titles after admitting to using performance enhancing drugs. He denied doping for more than a decade, but later came clean to Oprah.

Omarosa Claims Trump Repeatedly Used 'N-Word' During 'The Apprentice'
At the time, an early Apprentice producer took to Twitter to say "there are far worse" behind-the-scenes tapes from the show. Apprentice creator Mark Burnett responded to the 2016 rumors with threats of litigation against anyone who leaked.

"Well, sometimes you're the hammer and sometimes you're the nail", Armstrong wrote on Instagram.

The famous cyclist was exploring the Tom Blake trail in Colorado when the accident occurred, Sports Illustrated reported. For the 46 [years] prior to today I completely would have blown off getting checked. Well, that "dude' turned out to be @ajaxrider - the ER doc on duty today!"

"Charlie, thanks for looking after me", Armstrong wrote, sending his appreciation to the doctor.
