The world number two stood as the highest seed in the tournament with every intention to achieve an early round victory. Caroline Wozniacki returns the ball during her women's singles first round match against Samantha Stosur .

The Reds automatically enter in at this stage of the competition following their finish in the Premier League last season but will be matched with a fellow top six side in this early stage.

Tottenham's game is scheduled to be played in the week commencing September 24, but their new stadium will not yet be ready and Wembley is unavailable due to Anthony Joshua's heavyweight fight with Alexander Povetkin on September 22.

Elsewhere in the Carabao Cup draw, holders Manchester City face a trip to League One Oxford United, while Manchester United will take on Frank Lampard's Derby County at Old Trafford. They nearly caused a famous upset against Arsenal at this stage last season before Gunners youngster Eddie Nketiah broke their hearts.
