In Oakland's 16-10 victory, Gruden was treated to an early touchdown run by Marshawn Lynch, who found a lane and ran 60 yards to the end zone, only for those efforts to be called back due to holding in the backfield.

Jon Gruden was officially back, not when the Raiders took the sideline for the first time with him Friday night, but later, in the first quarter. He's never publicly stated his reason for sitting but when he made a decision to remain seated for the anthem during Oakland's preseason opener last season, then-head coach Jack Del Rio explained that he was caught off guard by the move. "He said, 'This is something I've done for 11 years".

Lynch was the only player on the Raiders to protest, while everybody on the Detroit Lions stood for the Anthem.

When a team plays well but loses, it is sometimes hard to figure out if they have been wasteful or unlucky. As Jorginho approaches the ball, he skips just before the taking his shot.

"Marshawn Lynch of the NFL's Oakland Raiders stands for the Mexican Anthem and sits down to boos for our National Anthem. Attendance and ratings way down".

No other players on either team demonstrated during the anthem, with the Lions all standing together with locked arms.

There were also several questions about roster formation and bubble players, which is something we learned a little more about last night but also need to be patient with as things develop.
