Nixon argues Cuomo weak against Trump

The campaigns of Gov. Andrew Cuomo and his primary rival Cynthia Nixon released dueling videos on Wednesday in the hours before they debate at Hofstra University on Long Island. Nixon is challenging Cuomo from the left, running on a platform calling for Medicare for all, marijuana legalization and abolishing ICE. "We need someone who's actually fighting the Trump agenda", Nixon said on CNN's "New Day" Thursday, following her tense debate with Cuomo Wednesday night.

"He stole hundreds of millions of dollars from the MTA budget for his pet projects that have nothing to do with it".

In response to Nixon's claims that he has "broken the New York City subway" and "handed over control of the State Senate to the Republicans", Cuomo insisted that Nixon is the real "corporate Democrat", despite the fact that she does not accept campaign contributions from corporations.

"Cynthia Nixon is giving [Gov.] Andrew Cuomo the biggest challenge he's ever had in his political career", Elrod said over whether Nixon has a shot at beating the third-term governor.

Whoever wins the primary in two weeks is nearly assured of being governor because NY is a Democratic stronghold. Let's do-let's just do a few facts, OK?

Hurricane Lane's eye seen in dramatic video as storm churns toward Hawaii
More than a foot of rain has already fallen on part of the Big Island, the NWS said on Thursday morning. Navy is moving its ships and submarines out of Hawaii as Hurricane Lane bears down on the state.

New York's primary elections will be held on September 13.

"You backed down pretty quickly and stood up to him about as well as he stands up to Putin", Nixon said to Cuomo.

When Nixon interjected how the state is truly in charge of the subway, Cuomo had enough. Nixon-who, like everyone else watching the exchange, appeared baffled by Cuomo's attack line-responded, "I am a person". Can you-can you stop interrupting?

Nixon has said she voted for Cuomo hoping he would be as liberal as his father, the late former Gov. Mario Cuomo. "Can you stop interrupting?"
