Frankfurt airport evacuated

Police evacuated part of a terminal at Germany's biggest airport on Tuesday over concerns that at least one person might have gotten through the facility's security area without being screened.

In a tweet, police said the airport was evacuated because of a mistake by an air safety assistant.

Aviation analyst Alex Macheras told DW that, "Frankfurt airport is among the world's busiest global airports and. passengers can expect disruption to continue throughout the rest of the day and night - with a significant backlog tomorrow".

It's unclear from the video how close the shark's open mouth comes to the underside of the pulpit. Just after the pilot says the shark is "right off your bow", the predator leaps toward Skomal.

German Federal police ordered the evacuation of two areas in Terminal 1 of Frankfurt Airport on Tuesday after a man reportedly slipped past security into the boarding areas.

At 1230 GMT, the police said on Twitter that affected areas had been re-opened, allowing passengers as well as airport and airline employees to return. At least 29 flights out of about 1,500 daily departures were cancelled, according to airport operator Fraport AG. Lufthansa was prompted to create a new flight plan because of the incident. That triggered an alarm which caused the cancellation of 300 flights and affected more than 30,000 passengers.
