Trump Google suppressing conservative voices hiding ‘good’ news and information

At 5.24am the U.S. leader criticised Google on Twitter after using it to search the internet for "Trump News" and claiming that "96% of results. are from National Left-Wing Media".

According to Google's explanation page, the algorithm takes in several factors to rank the pages that appear in the search results.

Trump tweeted before dawn: "This is a very serious situation-will be addressed!"

In March, Google announced it would spend more than $A408 million over the next three years to improve its search results following the rise of "fake news".

"Every one of us is sort of like a newspaper...you have Twitter, you have whatever you have, Facebook, but everyone you can't have censorship".

He says this "very serious situation-will be addressed!"

CNN was the top result in a "trump news" search under Google's News tab on Tuesday.

Earlier this month the president said social media was "totally discriminating against Republican/Conservative voices", and added that his administration would "not let that happen".

The president claimed that 96% of the results that appear under "Trump News" are from Left-wing media publications and described it as very unsafe.

Mr. Trump said results for "Trump News" is purposely set up to show CNN and "fake news media" to promote negative stories.

HuffPost has reached out to Google for comment.

As tech companies continue to purge their feeds of trolls, bots, fake news, and hateful content, expect more of these claims from the President and conservatives.

But the articles that were the basis for Trump's claim of rigging ignored the fact that Google's most fundamental interest is returning search results that users find helpful, because that's how it gets them to come back.
