The suit says the group's core functions and day-to-day operations have been threatened by the loss of its liability insurance, without which the 'NRA can not maintain its physical premises, convene off-site meetings and events, operate educational programs or hold rallies, conventions and assemblies.

The protest comes on the heels of a lawsuit filed by the gun organization targeting the state of NY.

"My cousin was gunned down two years ago, that's what motivated me".

Friday, he announced the state had filed a motion to dismiss the case.

In July, the Gov. Cuomo made his stance about gun safety even clearer.

The claim also points to an April news release in which Cuomo called on the DFS to urge insurers and banks in ny "to review any relationships they may have with the National Rifle Association". As a result, it said multiple financial institutions have entered into consent orders that compel them to end longstanding business relationships with the NRA in NY and elsewhere.

'The actions of defendants are a blatant attack on the First Amendment rights of our organization'.

The new court documents submitted in late July are part of an ongoing lawsuit against NY state, which the NRA claims has launched an unfair "blacklisting campaign" against the pro-gun lobby, costing "tens of millions of dollars in damages".

The Dane finished runner-up to Elina Svitolina in the tournament final a year ago when it was held in Toronto. It did not include a quote from Williams, who was scheduled to arrive in Montreal Saturday morning.

In that same release, Vullo urged "all insurance companies and banks doing business in NY to join the companies that have already discontinued their arrangements with the NRA".

The NRA earlier this week filed a lawsuit against NY officials earlier this week, alleging they are making it too hard for the organization to operate and run its finances.

"If the NRA is unable to collect donations from its members, safeguard the assets endowed to it, apply its funds to cover media buys and other expenses integral to its political speech, and obtain basic corporate insurance coverage, it will be unable to exist as a not-for-profit or pursue its advocacy mission", the court document says.

The NRA, however, can't entirely blame the Cuomo administration from its actions against the national organization. Meanwhile, March for Our Lives plans to hold rallies across the country as part of a bus tour, according to WTOP-TV (Washington).

Protesters, including some from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, rallied outside the gun-rights organization and were met by several dozen of its supporters.

"At that event, Hogg called Publix an "#NRASellOut".

The NRA's lawsuit against also alleges that the actions of Cuomo's administration endanger "the free speech and association rights guaranteed by the constitutions of the United States and the State of NY".

They hope the lawsuit, should a jury side with them, will force interference to stop and damages to be awarded.
