Putnam earned $612,000, a two-year Tour exemption and a spot next week in the US PGA Championship at Bellerive Country Club in St. Louis.

"One of the things I first thought about was getting to play in the Tournament of Champions in Maui because our family, we vacation there every year pretty much for my whole life", Putnam said. "Obviously this is a little different format, so the strategy has to be stay aggressive and make as many points as possible", Putnam said.

Chad Campbell birdied the 18th, following his 22-point round Saturday with an 11-point day.

He's 124th in the FedEx Cup standings, with the top 125 advancing to the playoffs and keeping their tour cards.

The 44-year-old Texan won the last of his four PGA Tour titles in 2007. Campbell splashed home four putts from outside 17 feet today, including a pair from outside 28 feet.

"These last two days felt really good", Campbell said. "Definitely moving in the right direction". "The last few holes you're just hitting and hoping the wind stays consistent and you don't catch any insane gusts".

Shane Lowry finished tied 15th, 16 points off the victor, with Graeme McDowell on + 31 points, Seamus Power on +21, and Padraig Harrington on +20.

"I feel like there's a lot to learn on the Tour".

Ben Silverman was the top Canadian with 32 points. Shane Lowry, 139th in the FedEx points, had 30 points, and Monday qualifier John Oda was another point back along with J.J.

First-round leader Ollie Schniederjans closed with an eagle to finish fifth with 36 points.

Putnam finished with back-to-back birdies to seize control with a total of 38 points in the modified Stableford event.

Sam Saunders, who started the day three off the lead, finished with a round worth minus-1, finishing tied for seventh.

Saunders, who is golfing legend Arnold Palmer's grandson, eagled the par-five 13th and 18th in a 12-point round.
