The Maine Center for Disease and Prevention is reporting a Maine resident has tested positive for the West Nile virus. Three other cases were reported on Friday.

A spokesperson for the departments says they learned that the resident who had been hospitalized after contracting the virus has died from complications of the illness.

"Several individuals from the same area have developed West Nile virus", said Massachusetts Public Health Commissioner Monica Bharel.

Health officials are especially concerned for people over 50 and people with compromised immune systems, as they are most likely to develop the disease.

Disney's streaming service is reportedly named 'Disney Play'
Now excuse me as I brood over the fact that " Disney Play" doesn't sound almost as catchy as my choice of name, " Disney Direct". It's one of a "suite" of planned direct-to-consumer services, which Iger says is "the biggest priority of the company" in 2019.

"The risk of being infected with West Nile virus exists locally".

Ahead of Labor Day weekend, it is also important to note that mosquito activity is highest at dusk and dawn.

Officials at the state Health Department said Thursday that residents can prevent exposure by eliminating standing water, wearing long sleeves and trousers when outdoors and using repellant.

"In fact, I would argue that the risk of West Nile in 2018 might be higher than in 2017", he said.
