Showtime's Halo Will Feature Master Chief

In June, Showtime announced they'd be moving forward with their Halo TV series, ordering 10 episodes.

Master Chief will be a main character in the upcoming Halo TV series on Showtime, it was revealed yesterday. The show had been lingering in development for years, but it finally seems like progress is being made, as evidenced by Showtime's session during the Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour.

The live-action Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn, however, did feature the Chief, but as a support role as the story was about how Thomas Lasky was inspired by him to eventually become a leader himself. But now that we're in a new age of television, one that's bolder and willing to take on bigger projects, "Halo" seems like a flawless fit for a series.

Now, Levine has confirmed to IGN that Master Chief will be playing one of the lead characters in the series.

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said the talks focused on "how we might get the refugees back". Such an effort would likely further cement Assad's hold on power.

Meaning, yes, franchise front man Master Chief will be a character on the series, Nevins affirmed. Levine also spoke about the network's approach to the series and why Killen was chosen to be the show's primary writer.

Fans may be anxious that the show will contradict the lore in some way, but Levine assured that they are "being incredibly respectful of the canon and working with the Microsoft 343 people to be sure [they] don't violate any of that", despite the fact that they are creating a new story and not adapting existing material. "But we also wanted to make sure we got beneath the formidable armor of the Spartans and really get into the human drama so it belonged on Showtime". Levine made it sound like this is a big production for Showtime, calling it Showtime's "most ambitious show ever" and confirming that the story will take place on multiple planets.

"I've seen scripts. I think it's a very different genre".

In the interview with GameSpot, Levine said, "It is futuristic space-based science fiction, it is not fantasy". However, given the detailed world Showtime is attempting to build with the show, Levine says the best bet for when Halo will debut is "probably 2020".
