India deploys military to save southern residents trapped by flood

Thampy, who lives in Mumbai, told HuffPost that by Wednesday night, the elderly woman had retreated to the second floor of her two-story house in Pandanad, a village in the state of Kerala that lies right on the banks of the Pampa River.

On late Saturday evening, a 150-member National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team started rescue operations in and around affected areas of Chengannur.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a high-level meeting in Kochi to review the flood situation in Kerala and also conducted an aerial survey of the affected areas.

In a statement Adityanath said, "Directions have also been issued to send relief material to Kerala on an immediate basis". There is a huge destruction caused in the state but still the National media has convenietly avoided and is busy covering other issues, while the worldwide media is taking in concern as a major issue, is reporting about it!
