Tiny pressure leak discovered on International Space Station, NASA says

56-57 crew successfully docked at the International Space Station via the Soyuz MS-09 spacecraft

Astronauts scrambled Thursday to patch a tiny hole that was allowing air to leak from the Russian side of the International Space Station. It seems a small meteor caused a "minute" pressure leak, reports AFP. The official said air was being sucked out through a 1.5mm fracture, which may have been caused by a micrometeorite impact.

The leak was discovered at around 7 p.m., (EDT) Wednesday, by flight controllers in Houston and Moscow.

The Soyuz MS-09 carried Sergey Prokopyev, German astronaut Alexander Gerst and NASA astronaut Serena Auñón-Chancellor into orbit June 6.

According to tweets from the space news website NASASpaceFlight.com, a hole was found and initially taped over as a temporary fix.

F**k all y'all, I'm here.' And until he did that, that's when he became the figurehead that he is. Green told LeBron that he wished he would tell the world that he's the best player.

The hole is located in the upper section of the Soyuz, which does not return to earth, according to NASA.

Flight controllers monitored the cabin pressure while working to come up with a better long-term solution. "Once the patching is complete, additional leak checks will be performed".

The Russian space agency Roscosmos has not released an update.

NASA and Russian space officials stressed Thursday that the six astronauts are in no danger. But when an alarm rings out on the International Space Station, things are obviously a bit more serious.
