Movies Anywhere movies will show up within Microsoft's Movies & TV apps, even if they were bought on competing platforms.

Movies Anywhere functions as a unified cloud locker for movie purchases: After signing up for a Movies Anywhere account and then connecting that account with their accounts by individual retailers, consumers can access all of their movie purchases together in one place through dedicated apps for mobile and TV-connected devices. And once you make these connections, any eligible purchases you made across any of the services. You can get started with Movies Anywhere on this page. "Microsoft is committed to delivering rich entertainment experiences to our customers, and we're in discussions with Movies Anywhere about bringing their service onboard".

While you're there, you should also link any other movie services you may use: Amazon Prime Video, Apple iTunes, Fandango Now, Google Play Movies & TV (which includes YouTube), and VUDU are all compatible.

Naz Shah slams Boris Johnson and accuses him of Islamophobia
The assistant secretary general of the Muslim Council of Britain, Miqdaad Versi, said Mr Johnson was "pandering to the far right". Middle East Minister Alistair Burt criticized Johnson on Tuesday for comments he said "many people would find offensive".

Microsoft's Movies & TV service is joining Disney's Movies Anywhere service today, which is very good news for users of the Microsoft Store and the Movies & TV app on Windows 10 and Xbox One. Like most good things, Movies Anywhere is available only in the U.S. at this time. Microsoft also says that playback on Xbox 360, Windows phones and PCs running an older operating system than Windows 10 may be unavailable.

Movies Anywhere is backed by the major film studios - Warner Bros., Disney, Universal, Sony and Fox - as a way to centralize the far-flung films of theirs that you've purchased around the internet.

To celebrate this launch, Movies Anywhere is giving away a free copy of X-Men: Days of Future Past when you sync an account.
