YouTube adds ‘Time watched’ stats to its mobile apps

After taping on Time watched, YouTube didn't hesitate to show me how productive my weekend was. Today, they made a decision to add some of these tools to the YouTube application. Now there's an easy way to see exactly how much time you spend watching videos on the Google-owned service-if you're courageous enough to confront the truth.

Google today is introducing a new feature in its bid to further "digital wellbeing" and enable users to 'focus on what matters most and disconnect when needed.' In a post, the company highlighted all the ways it was now enabling users to take control of their YouTube consumption rate. This feature tracks how long a user has watched YouTube content over the course of seven days.

Taylor Bertolet made the extra point, but it was negated by Jonotthan Harrison's false start - and Bertolet missed the re-kick. Entering the third and playing all of the fourth, Bridgewater concluded the day with a mark of 11-of-15 for 103 yards.

EMarketer reports that the average smartphone user over the age of 18 spends more than four hours per day utilizing apps and cruising the web from their cellular devices. Currently, it also seems like time spent watching YouTube videos when signed in as another channel doesn't get credited to your main account. Others include YouTube notification management and the ability to set reminders via pop-up to let you know when it's time to take a break from watching your favorite channels. Once you've hit that limit, a friendly reminder will pop up on your screen. There are 10 categories of notifications available in the YouTube app, so batching them if you have several turned on is a welcome addition. To set that up, open the YouTube app, tap your Account icon then go to Settings Notifications Disable sounds & vibrations, and select your desired start and end time.
