It is rumored that the show will put the focus on lesser-known superheroes from the world of Marvel Comics, but specific details are now under wraps.

"Launching a new Marvel series has been a priority for ABC, with the Heinberg project emerging as a strong contender from the get-go, I hear". So far, it looks like the new series will center on multiple female superheroes.

The Hollywood trade reports that the hour-long drama has been picked up for a production commitment by ABC. The exact details of the project are being kept under wraps, so no word yet on exactly which characters from the Marvel universe will be featured.

The news comes on the heels of Disney's plans for several streaming series, including solo shows for MCU standouts Loki and Scarlet Witch. Heinberg is working on the series under his overall deal with ABC Studios. In the last five years, ABC has launched two other Marvel series which had short runs including Agent Carter, which was well received, and Inhumans, which was not received very well at all by fans of the MCU. Heinberg had success in superhero filmmaking recently, as he wrote the script for Wonder Woman which he had also written the comic version of. Heinberg's previous TV writing and producing credits include The Naked Truth, Party of Five, Sex and the City, Gilmore Girls, The O.C. and Looking.

‘Inconclusive’ post mortems on Egypt hotel holiday couple
The Coopers were on a Thomas Cook holiday at the Steigenberger Aqua Magic Hotel in Hurghada last month when they fell ill. Post-mortems on a couple who died while on holiday in Egypt have not found their cause of death , lawyers have said.

Additionally, for DC Comics, he co-wrote JLA: Crisis Of Conscience with Geoff Johns (art by Chris Batista), and re-launched Wonder Woman in 2006 with artists Terry and Rachel Dodson. The big screen portion is now juggling the productions of Captain Marvel, Avengers 4, and Spider-Man: Far From Home.

Marvel also now has five shows on Netflix: "The Punisher", "Daredevil", "Jessica Jones", "Luke Cage", and "Iron Fist".

Deadline notes the Marvel female TV series will fit nicely with ABC's lineup that strongly appeals to women.
