Alan Wake is coming back… as a TV show

According to Variety, the TV series will be produced by Contradiction Films and headed up by Legion and Cloak and Dagger showrunner Peter Calloway.

Alan Wake, a game that was structured like and inspired by TV shows, is set to become a TV show itself. "In a story like Alan Wake, a story filled with mystery and questions, answering this one would be a spoiler", Lake said. The game's creator, Remedy Entertainment's Sam Lake, is the executive producer.

Despite positive reviews, Alan Wake has never received a true sequel.

Lake's game was influenced by The Twilight Zone, Secret Window, Northern Exposure, masters of horror Stephen King and Alfred Hitchcock, and other television projects.

"We plan to work closely with Sam on our this [sic] show". What follows is an increasingly surreal experience that seems to bring the plot from his last novel - which he has no memory of writing - to life.

'Dancing With the Stars' Season 27 Cast: John Schneider, Nancy McKeon
Evanna Lynch and Tinashe have been confirmed as contestants for the upcoming series of Dancing With The Stars . Billboard Hot 100, and she also had a guest spot on the former CBS sitcom Two and a Half Men .

"Definitely what we have mapped out is a longer thing than the first game and a sequel; there is more to it", said Lake.

"The Alan Wake TV show is due to be shopped around to a number of studios by Contradiction Films partner Tomas Harlan in October, with Calloways" full pitch apparently already garnering interest from certain parties. "In many ways, we see the universe as a bigger thing", said Lake.

Alan Wake is back!

Now Remedy will dive into the world of TV proper by both revisiting Alan Wake's video game origins and expanding on them. "We feel this is a big universe to develop and explore in many ways". While it looks as if a direct continuation of the game series may take quite some time, it looks as if the property may at least come back in the form of a television series.

There's now no word regarding what network the show will premiere on, which actors (if any) are attached to the project, and whether or not the show will serve as a kind of sequel to the original game or whether it will just exist somewhere in the Alan Wake universe.
