Bills rookie QB Josh Allen to start vs. Chargers

Allen, 22, had replaced Nathan Peterman during the second half of the Bills' blowout loss in Week 1, after Peterman completed just 5-of-18 passes for 24 yards, two interceptions and a ridiculous passer rating of 0.0.

Head Coach Sean McDermott is scheduled to speak to the media later on this morning.

The Buffalo Bills will start rookie QB Josh Allen Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers, according to a report from ESPN's Chris Mortensen.

Allen fared moderately better than Peterman after coming into the game in the third quarter, tossing 74 yards on 6 of 15 attempts.

Packers taking it day by day with Aaron Rodgers
On Wednesday, though, Rodgers made it clear that painkillers had nothing to do with the comeback or the postgame interview. He said after the game that while he had to undergo more tests, he planned on playing against Minnesota.

"I don't feel the need, honestly, to elaborate", McDermott said.

The Bills turned to Allen as the backup in Buffalo after the team made a decision to trade veteran quarterback A.J. McCarron to the Oakland Raiders on September 1.

Allen got his first taste of the National Football League last week in the Bills' 47-3 loss in Buffalo.

While the Ravens dominated the offensive line, sources said the evaluation of Sunday's game also assigned three sacks to Peterman, who moves into the backup role behind Allen. "We talk a lot in house about decisions and things and what we've got to do and the right move at the right time and right now, with all respect to your question, this is the right move for us".
