Delhi cop’s son thrashes woman; arrested after Rajnath intervenes

Similar is the case of this young man identified as Rohit Singh Tomar, son the of an Assitant Sub-Inspector, is been caught on camera, mercilessly beating a woman. He had allegedly threatened that she would meet the same fate if she did not marry him.

Tomar is the son of Ashok Kumar Tomar, an assistant sub-inspector with the Delhi Police in the central district.

"A stern action has been taken against the accused Tomar on the charges of assaulting a woman with intent to outrage her modesty and criminal intimidation under the Indian Penal Code", she added.

According to reports, Tomar had sent the video to his ex-girlfriend to frighten her to come back to his life.

The accused in the viral video can be seen repeatedly threatening and beating up the girl. When she said that she will file a complaint, the accused assaulted her, she has alleged.

The man was arrested after Rajnath Singh intervened, calling out Delhi Police Commissioner to initiate investigations.

In the video, Tomar is seen dragging the woman and brutally assaulting her. "I have spoken to the Delhi Police Commissioner (Amulya Patnaik) on the phone and asked him to take necessary action", the Home Minister tweeted. Delhi police has registered.The person, shooting the video was Tomar's friend who also tried to dissuade him.

The woman, seen in the video shared widely on social media and shown on TV channels, told the police that Rohit Tomar called her to his friend's office in Uttam Nagar and raped her, Anto Alphonse, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka), said. On September 2 at around 3 pm, Rohit got hold of the girl in the BPO where they both work. On Friday, Singh took to Twitter to inform that he had taken the cognisance of the case and ordered the Delhi Police to act.
