If UEFA deems the squad for the Nations League tie against Wales on Sunday - live on Sky Sports - to not be of sufficient strength, Denmark could face a UEFA ban.

"DBU is happy to tell the media that we must think about togetherness and solidarity - as if we don't care about the team as a whole". Futsal is a five-a-side football game played mainly indoors on small hard courts with a smaller, harder ball.

The row between Danish players and their FA (DBU) could result in futsal players lining out instead of Christian Eriksen and Co.in a friendly against Slovakia on Wednesday night.

But the Danish Player Association (Spillerforeningen) have urged the DBU to reconsider and told the governing body that the national squad is willing to play the two games under the terms of their old agreement.

"We have to solve this conflict now, and not just dig the trenches deeper", Eriksen said. "The old deal has worked for years and only has to be valid for one month longer". We are prepared to play the worldwide matches this week and then we have time after the matches to negotiate the whole agreement. Now we are working to get the best possible players to play the two matches for Denmark.

The DBU was not immediately reachable for comment, but rejected the same offer on Sunday.

Tottenham star Eriksen has now implored the authorities to accept the offer of playing the next two matches under the terms of their old deal, insisting money is not the priority for the squad, who reached the last 16 of the World Cup in Russian Federation.

Buzz Aldrin Criticizes Armstrong Biopic With US Flag Tweet
The "La La Land" filmmaker was motivated to portray the risks and challenges of the moon mission through the eyes of Armstrong. Columnist Bill Kristol claimed the film was "a foolish and pernicious falsification of history".

Last year, the women's team boycotted a World Cup qualifier with Sweden over a pay dispute.

Sweden were awarded a 3-0 win and UEFA fined the DBU £18,000.

The DBU was also warned that Denmark would be barred from UEFA tournaments if it cancelled another match in the next four years.

Playing against a second-string side gives Wales a major advantage against Denmark and could give them a head-start in qualifying for the 2020 Euros.

"It is a deeply regrettable situation we are in, for the team, fans and for all in Danish football", DBU CEO Claus Bretton-Meyer said in a statement.

Former Arsenal midfielder John Jensen has been named as the Denmark manager for the two games. "If the games are not played, we may be fighting millions of fines and exclusions for both national teams - and Danish football will be returned to the Stone Age in many areas". One of the players reported to have made himself available is striker Christian Offenberg of Avarta who play in the third tier of Danish football.
