Drake Files Lawsuit Against Woman Who Allegedly Lied About Pregnancy and Rape

It's not possible to know from our vantage point who is telling the truth here, so instead let's just focus on something we can all factually agree on: It's very amusing to read Drake's text messages.

The lawsuit filed by Drake's attorney Larry Stein claims the Canadian met Lace during his 2017 Boy Meets World Tour stop in Manchester.

After not being able to go on the road with him, Layla then created a "fantasy relationship" with him, which he didn't have the "time or energy to respond" to and he says that set her off. Again, it's impossible to discern if the texts indeed show that, but it is nonetheless interesting to get an unobstructed peek at the interior life of one of the most famous people on the planet.

Head over to TMZ to see Drake ghosting Layla via text. I enjoy reading them.

Stereogum has reached out to Drake's representative for further comment.

According to the lawsuit, Layla switched tactics and went to authorities in NY and alleged Drake had raped her during their one-night stand. Drake says at that point Layla hired a new lawyer who demanded money or else they would make the rape complaint public. Lace then announced she was pregnant on Instagram in April of 2017, and even made an appearance on Sirius XM Radio to discuss the alleged pregnancy. "There is no credible evidence of pregnancy, nor any baby, which would have been born last Fall", his legal team claimed.

The lawsuit claims that Layla lawyered up back in May 2017 and demanded money from Drake for her alleged baby. Drake countered, saying she "voluntarily and seemingly happily performed oral sex".

Lace appears to have taken her social media accounts private. He said that when he stopped responding to messages from Lace, she threatened to publish their correspondence, then publicly accused Drake of raping and impregnating her (after demanding millions of dollars to remain silent). Drake's legal counsel maintains that police in Manchester cleared him after looking into the matter but that Lace continued to demand money in exchange for keeping quiet about her claims. After Drake refused her requests, she allegedly hired a lawyer to pursue accusations that he raped her during their February 2017 encounter.
