Report Saints hosting just-cut Patriots RB Mike Gillislee

Ingram is on the reserve/suspended list, Williams was surprisingly let go, and a new face could be joining them: former New England Patriots running back Mike Gillislee, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Gillislee, a running back who arrived with some fanfare a year ago when the Patriots signed him away from the Bills, has been released today.

The team elected to sit Gillislee in the fourth preseason game on Thursday, which seemed like an indicator he might make the team. He had 383 rushing yards on 104 carries with five touchdowns for the Pats last season. After battling it out with Jeremy Hill in training camp for the final running back spot on the depth chart, Hill emerged victorious and Gillislee was cut.

California's favorite burger joint has come under fire after the restaurant donated $25,000 to the California Republican Party. As a reflection of their Christian beliefs, Bible citations are printed on the bottoms of In-N-Out's packaging.

Gillislee, 27, was selected by the Dolphins in the fifth round of the 2013 draft and spent two years with the Bills before landing in New England in 2017. He has 1,248 yards and 16 touchdowns in his four seasons in the league.

It's too soon to say whether Gillislee will actually sign with New Orleans, but this free agent visit certainly points to the lack of confidence the Saints have in their backfield as-is.
