Diablo Animated Series for Netflix Leaked by Hellboy Series Screenwriter

Hellboy screenwriter Andrew Cosby has seemingly confirmed a rumored animated adaptation of the Diablo video game is moving forward at Netflix.

Given that the tweet has now been taken down, I guess Cosby was not free to confirm the existence of the new series.

Cosby tweeted the confirmation on Thursday, stating that, not only is the series actually happening, but that he's in final talks to be the writer and showrunner.

Pakistan beat Afghanistan in nail-biting Asia Cup encounter
Shahidi shifted gears easily after largely remaining patient in his unbeaten and career-best knock which came off 118 balls. Rashid Khan, the brightest young talent in world cricket, brought Afghanistan back in the game by picking three wickets.

According to Syfy, he also said the show would be Rated R - but if its going to be a series, and not a movie, we're sure he meant "TV-MA".

Although Cosby has deleted the tweet, Bloody Disgusting grabbed a screencap. It seems that Cosby has previously spoken about his interest in doing a Diablo series and noted that if he were to do one, it would "DEFINITELY be Rated R". First launched in 1996, Diablo is a mixture of a hack-and-slash button-mashing game and a traditional RPG that allows you to play as a lonely medieval hero on a quest to rid the world of Diablo, the Lord of Terror. Still, it hasn't prevented the series from becoming wildly popular, landing on several outlets' lists for greatest video games of all time.

But now that the loot's out of the treasure goblin's sack, so to speak, maybe we'll be getting more details about Blizzard and Netflix's new pact sooner rather than later.
