The video, shared on social media late on Wednesday night, has been shared more than 6,000 times.

An Australia-wide hunt is on for a man who appears to have used his ute to deliberately mow down a mob of emus on a dirt road.

One person wrote: "I am sharing this in the hope that someone identifies this grub and turns him in!"

'Scum of the earth!

"Does any one know when this was done and how to identify this disgusting human", another person said.

Other social media users directly messaged Mr Hatzis on Facebook, threatening to rape and kill his family.

The stomach-churning footage has been viewed nearly half a million times since being uploaded on Wednesday afternoon.

Nokia 9 Launch Tipped to Be Moved to MWC 2019
As a result of Sarvikas' choices, the tipster takes note of that the Nokia 8 Sirocco didn't do well in the market. These images gave an idea about how both these Nokia smartphones will not pack in-trend "notch" displays.

At the end the footage suddenly jumps to the man's face - it may be the camera on his phone reversing from front to back - as he laughs and shouts "Yes!"

It is not exactly clear when or where the video was recorded. The man with a mustache is wearing a red baseball cap, sunglasses, a green shirt and black coat.

An RSPCA Australia spokesperson told Yahoo7 News that they are aware of the "horrific" incident yet have no information on when or where the clip was filmed, or who is involved.

RSPCA inspectors are now examining the footage to try and determine when and where it was filmed.

"We are appealing to the public for information, and we urge anyone with any knowledge of the source of this video to contact the RSPCA in your state, or the police immediately", RSPCA NSW said.

"Such sickening cruelty clearly has no place in our society", the spokeswoman said.

It added: "The RSPCA unequivocally condemns this type of behaviour, as it clearly shows a disregard for the lives of these vulnerable native animals".
