Thursday’s First Warning Forecast Feeling like the triple digits again today

The mountains can expect partly cloudy skies with a 20 percent chance of afternoon rain, thunderstorms and snow at the higher elevations.

The extended forecast now shows a return to warm and humid conditions after Labor Day, with high temperatures approaching the 90s once again. Highs in the mid to upper 80s with a heat index that will make it feel like the 90s. Expect a few showers and storms over the coastal waters early this morning and they'll push onshore by late morning along the I-95 corridor and push inland to the I-75 corridor by the mid-late afternoon hours.

Sunday: Partly sunny, very warm and humid. Highs will reach the low 90s in our inland zones and upper 80s along the coast.

Beach & Boating Forecast: An extended period of onshore/easterly flow is expected through the middle of next week, mainly in the range of 10-15 knots and seas 3-5 ft.

Ford cancels plans to sell Focus Active in US
The company is involved in a global restructuring expected to cost $11 billion over the next three to five years. If it doesn't receive that exemption, executives have warned that GM could drop that vehicle from its US lineup.

Through the remainder of Labor Day weekend, chances for scattered showers and thunderstorms will continue as high temperatures will reach the upper 80s. Highs in the low 90s.

Saturday Night: Evening storms north of I-70, then becoming partly cloudy.

NEXT WEEK: Back to work and back to school on Tuesday is hot and muggy. This setup will lead to an easterly onshore fetch of wind bringing increasing Atlantic moisture, plenty of clouds, occasional rounds of showers, and much cooler high temperatures in the mid 70s. While there may be a few dry times Friday, things are starting to look a little wetter for the day with perhaps a few periods of steady rain, especially areas to the south of the Lehigh Valley. At this point it does not look widespread, but the front will provide relief in the form of lower temperatures and much more comfortable humidity. Many run into some isolated showers during the morning, perhaps a rumble of thunder.

Have a great and safe rest of the week!
