Chuck Grassley Releases Letter Christine Blasey Ford Sent To Dianne Feinstein

Senate Republicans' reason for attempting to push through a vote on Judge Brett Kavanaugh's Supreme Court confirmation came into view Sunday night after The New Yorker reported on a second woman who's accused Kavanaugh of sexual assault-an accusation that Senate Republicans have reportedly known about since last week.

"Survivors must be heard".

Senate Democrats are investigating the bombshell claim by Deborah Ramirez, according to the New Yorker magazine.

"Listen to Christine Blasey Ford", the statement concluded.

Grassley's counsel said in a note to Ford's lawyers that "the Chairman asked me to relay again that he will do everything in his power to provide a safe, comfortable and dignified forum for Dr. Ford to testify". She also accused Kavanaugh of laughing at her in the aftermath and has said the FBI should investigate the incident.

Kavanaugh denies all the allegations against him.

Trump, at the United Nations in NY, declared that Kavanaugh is "outstanding", and added, "I am with him all the way".

The judge already faces a separate allegation of sexual assault made by Christine Blasey Ford, a professor at Palo Alto University, who claims Kavanaugh attempted to sexually assault her at a drunken high school party in the early 1980s.

How that could backfire for Republicans: Even before President Trump picked Kavanaugh to be his Supreme Court nominee, Republicans were in politically unsafe territory when it came to female voters' perceptions of them.

Republicans, who hold a paper-thin majority in the Senate, can ill afford defections if Kavanaugh is to be approved. Despite revelations of Dr. Ford's identity, the Ranking Member and Dr. Ford's attorneys to date still have not publicly released a copy of the original version of the letter or shared it more broadly than the 21 members and senior staff of the Judiciary Committee.

Authorities have not released where the shipment came from or who the intended recipient was. "Sometimes, life gives you lemons". The Drug Enforcement Administration and US Customs and Border Protection are continuing their investigation.

On Sunday evening Kavanaugh issued a statement through the White House press office categorically denying the allegations made by Ramirez.

"The Senate simply can not in good conscience vote on this nomination without a full fair FBI investigation of all these allegations", he said.

President Trump, seen at the United Nations on Monday, has called Brett Kavanaugh "an outstanding person" after second allegation of sexual misconduct.

"She said, point-blank, I don't want to ruin anyone's life, but she feels this is a serious claim", Farrow said in regards to Ramirez.

In a statement, two of those male classmates who Ramirez alleged were involved in the incident, the wife of a third male student she said was involved, and three other classmates, Dino Ewing, Louisa Garry, and Dan Murphy, disputed Ramirez's account of events: "We were the people closest to Brett Kavanaugh during his first year at Yale".

New allegations against Kavanaugh have come to light since.

Among their list of requests, Ford's lawyers asked that the committee only allow senators to ask questions and that Ford be able to call other witnesses. Shame on them. This charade has gone on long enough: Kavanaugh must withdraw immediately.

Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley, a Republican, had set several deadlines since Friday for Ford to decide whether and how she would testify before the panel.

Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) on Sunday slammed Democrats for "withholding information" in relation to the sexual assault allegations against Judge Brett Kavanaugh. The woman said Kavanaugh forced her to come in contact with his penis while both were inebriated at a party.
