Joaquin Phoenix's Joker Causes Panic On The Subway

Hint at New Plot Details and Motive

Hint at New Plot Details and Motive

DC Comics fans who've been stoked with anticipation for details on next year's Joker movie have been getting a first glimpse at what the sadistic supervillain will look like thanks to the recent leaking of a video clip that he is featured in.

What do you think of Joaquin Phoenix's makeup for Joker?

Well, that is certainly something. But as Laughing by The Guess Who plays on the soundtrack, the scene shows the garishly made-up Joker flashing across Phoenix's face. Given how corrupt and downright ineffective Gotham's police can be, and on the off chance that the movie doesn't have that one ray of light on the force in the form of James Gordon, chances are the cops may still be corrupt in the Joker film. Absent any appearance by Batman, the plot sounds a bit like Martin Scorsese's 1982 film The King of Comedy, which may explain why Robert De Niro is in it.

Trump outburst over Kavanaugh's female accuser sparks #WhyIDidntReport hashtag trend
He claimed that if the assault was as serious as she claims it to be, it must have been reported. In her first-person story, Milano said that Trump's statement "chilled me to my core".

There are other teases for the movie floating around, like this extended version of the transformation video, which includes Phoenix's character having a close encounter with a clown on the street...

Mirroring the classic look seen in Jack Nicholson and Heath Ledger's previous interpretations of the character, this Joker is a mess of unkempt green hair and heavy circus-makeup, although his purple suit has been switched out for a rust brown and orange combination. It's also worth noting that the Joker images we've seen have all been made for promotional purposes, so the actual look may change before the film arrives in U.S. theaters on October 4th, 2019.
