Mourinho calling out biased, uninformed journalists and pundits about Marcus Rashford is the best thing he's done as Manchester United manager.

After a convincing victory at Burnley last time out, Jose Mourinho was asked whether Manchester United might have been hoping to get straight back out on the field rather than having to see out an worldwide break before their trip to Watford on Saturday.

"Like any young player, my goal is to get into the first team".

Three Lions striker Marcus Rashford seems to have hit some form in the past week, finding the back of the net against Spain and Switzerland and taking his global goals tally to five.

The 20-year-old forward impressed for England over the worldwide break as he started and scored against both Spain and Switzerland.

The issue, however, with Rashford, is not that he isn't playing at all - he evidently is - but it is his position.

Mourinho also joked that he will still be criticised for not starting Rashford even though the forward is suspended for Saturday's game against Watford.

"He is a special talent", Southgate said. "He will be a top player".

Hurricane Florence: Carolinas brace for 'storm of lifetime'
Myrtle Beach, a SC beach resort, was virtually deserted with empty streets, boarded up storefronts and very little traffic. A storm surge of 10 feet has been reported in North Carolina by the National Weather Service office in Morehead City.

This time around, his answer to the question about Rashford was 279 seconds long, replete with key numbers which struck at the heart of claims the Englishman had been underused at Old Trafford. Starts on the wing might be scarce, too.

Jose Mourinho is "real" and does not fake his emotions like other managers in the Premier League, says Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku. He doesn't look at home on the right wing.

Figures from football statisticians Opta show no player now aged under 21 has played more competitive minutes for a Premier League team than Rashford (7,280) since his debut in February 2016.

United will be looking to win their third game of the season when they travel to Watford on Saturday evening, with the Hornets boasting a ideal record in their four matches so far. He did not come off the bench in their 3-0 defeat by Tottenham Hotspur and was sent off just 10 minutes after coming on during their 2-0 win over Burnley before the global break.

Mourinho believes Rashford is capable of performing in any role in a front three and said his wide players had the freedom to move inside. United could play very well in a 3-5-2 and here's why. There's no outward sign of any resentment from Rashford, but will he continue to be content being a so-called "super-sub"?

Javi Gracia's Hornets have stunned nearly everyone by getting off to a flying start in 2018-19, registering four wins from their opening four Premier League games.

"On the season 16-17 Marcus Rashford played 32 Premier League matches, 11 Europa League matches, including the final, three FA Cup matches, six League Cup matches including the final and the Community Shield".

Rashford is still raw - his final ball can be poor and his finishing sometimes lets him down - and he makes mistakes, but he is clearly a player for the big occasion. United would not play Juan Mata, a more composed midfielder, but four players who can do many different things when on the pitch.
