"He's already very good but he can be even better", he is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News.

"Scoring goals wins you games but not conceding wins you championships".

Boss Jürgen Klopp added: "It is fantastic news but should not be a surprise to anyone - he is ideal for us and we for him, I think". That's really pretty old but still very true.

But Klopp has stressed the point that his players haven't been at their best in the opening weeks of the new season, warning any potential title rivals that the Merseyside outfit will only improve as the year progresses.
