"That was a big fight for him [against Vargas], there is never a tiresome moment with Amir Khan".

The Bolton welterweight, a former unified super-lightweight world champion, was back in action at the Arena Birmingham, exclusively live on Sky Sports.

Brook was not impressed hearing Khan installing Pacquiao as his No.1 choice and insisted he would have knocked his fellow Brit out had he been in Vargas' position.

But he was forced to overcome adversity in the process before coming out with a convincing unanimous decision victory by margins of 119-108, 119-109 and 118-110.

Vargas' record dropped to 29-4 plus two draws.

In the middle rounds, Khan was caught with a trio of shots by the Colombian-born man and was saved by the bell again in the final quarter of the fight.

But he got the win at the end of it and now wants to move on to bigger and better things.

Vince Vaughn Formally Charged for Alleged Drunk Driving Incident
Vince Vaughn has been charged with drink-driving and disobeying a police officer, following his arrest earlier this year. At the time of this writing, Vaughn still has yet to publicly comment on his arrest and subsequent legal trouble.

But it was not a performance which will give the likes Brook or Manny Pacquiao too many sleepless nights. Inshallah [God be willing], I will be ready. "I know I've trained very hard for this fight so nothing can go wrong and I really believe that I will win in style".

Kell Brook - one potential opponent - was in the crowd to watch as Khan, who had ended his prior fight against Phil Lo Greco within 40 seconds, hit the canvas in the second round.

"The fight against Vargas will be tough but I've prayers and support from everyone".

'100 per cent I won't, and I will beat Manny Pacquiapo and Kell Brook.

It has to happen next or it will never happen, so it's up to these guys.

"It'll be two weeks off then we will sit round the table".
