Margot Robbie’s ‘Birds of Prey’ to Open in February 2020

Birds of Prey Release Date Set for February 2020

Birds of Prey Release Date Set for February 2020

Warner Bros had a release date in mind all along for its DC movie Birds of Prey, and it will be opening the untitled Margot Robbie project on Febraury 7, 2020.

The upcoming superhero film will open in theaters everywhere on February 7, 2020 as the production has been actively involved in casting process for its leads to star alongside Robbie. Cathy Yan is directing, with Robbie set to reprise her Suicide Squad role as Harley Quinn. Rumours have put Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Janelle Monae, Black Mirror's Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Cristin Milioti, The Leftovers' Margaret Qualley, Underground's Jurnee Smollett-Bell, and One Day At A Time's Justina Machado in the running for roles, but no decisions have been made public yet.

The pic is aiming to start shooting at the top of 2019.

It is, however, highly unlikely the Guards will strike any of its foes directly and risk sparking a regional conflict. Mourners carried pictures of the dead along with banners reading "we will stand to the end" and "no to terrorism".

Curiously, the February date places Birds of Prey into release a week before Cary Fukunaga's Bond 25 - an intriguing move that could split audiences down gender lines once the films' releases intersect. It was recently announced that several high profile actresses have been auditioning for key roles, with the Black Canary and Huntress now up for grabs. A Suicide Squad sequel to be directed by Gavin O'Connor is also in active development, but Glenn Ficarra and John Requa's Harley Quinn Vs The Joker romance movie and David Ayer's Gotham City Sirens now appear to be on the backburner.

The official Birds of Prey baddie will be Gotham City crime lord Black Mask (aka Roman Sionis), who has never been depicted onscreen before - according to The Wrap.
