Friends’ Star Matthew Perry Reveals He Just Spent Three Months In Hospital

Matthew Perry's rep confirmed in August that the actor had surgery to fix a gastrointestinal perforation.

Matthew Perry says he's spent the last three months in the hospital.

He broke his silence on Friday night to reveal that he has been confined to a hospital bed for three months.

Perry's representative confirmed the surgery last month, saying: "Matthew recently underwent surgery in a Los Angeles hospital to fix a gastrointestinal perforation. We love you man - you have that special way of bringing the laughs & the world needs you!" one fan wrote. "He is grateful for the concern and asks for continued privacy as he heels", it read. Glad you've chose to update us", and: "I am so glad to see your tweet!

A punctured bowel - or gastrointestinal perforation - can occur in the wall of the gastrointestinal tract, including the stomach, small intestine and large intestine.

In the past, Matthew Perry has been open about struggles with addiction and how it has impacted his physical health.

But it won't be a political message or attack on one of his perceived enemies-or at least, it's not supposed to be. It is the system's first nationwide test in which users can not opt out.

She told the magazine: 'He's screaming my name, and I go back into the living room and his hands... he was sitting on the couch with his hands on his legs, and he kept saying "You need to unstick me, you need to unstick me".

Another fan added, "Seriously, though, I have been looking for news about you for a while and haven't seen anything".

"Eventually things got so bad that I couldn't hide it, and then everybody knew".

A gastrointestinal perforation can be a life-threatening issue, so on the optimistic side, it's obviously imperative Perry got it taken care of... but the hospital recovery time.

Perry, who played Chandler Bing on the iconic United States sitcom, would often turn up to work hungover, leading his Friends co-stars - including Jennifer Aniston - begging him to get help.
