Major Changes Made to Every New York McDonald's

Snopes has officially debunked the widely held belief that McDonald's menu items don't decay due to "chemicals".

To make the change, artificial preservatives were removed from McDonald's real American Cheese, Big Mac Special Sauce, the regular bun, the Quarter Pounder bun and the Big Mac Bun.

McDonald's said it stripped components like calcium propionate, an artificial preservative, from its buns and eliminated sorbic acid, a preservative, from its American cheese.

They also have reformulated buns and sauces.

"A little perspective of the scale these changes will have: on average, McDonald's US uses more than 9.5 million slices of real American cheese and 8 million buns to build and serve the classic burgers to our customers daily across 14,000 restaurants", McDonald's explained.

The changes come as McDonald's continues to try to attract more health-conscious consumers.

Scientists know the home star of interstellar object Oumuamua
One of these star systems may have ejected 'Oumuamua toward Earth, likely via a giant planet early in the system's formation. Its discovery was somewhat lucky, as when it was discovered , the elongated asteroid Oumuamua was already on its way out.

But one thing that isn't changing? Its pickle still contains an artificial preservative, so the company is advising customers to skip the pickle if they are concerned.

"We have made significant strides in evolving the quality of our food", McDonald's USA President Chris Kempczinski said in a press release.

McDonald's is following an industry trend toward healthier food.

"From switching to 100% fresh beef in our quarter-pound burgers, cooked right when ordered, to removing artificial preservatives in our Chicken McNuggets, and committing to cage-free eggs by 2025, we have made significant strides in evolving the quality of our food", said Chris Kempczinski, the company's U.S. president.

"We've been on a journey to remove artificial colours, flavours and preservatives from some of our ingredients, all while continuing to deliver great tasting food people trust", says a statement from McDonald's Canada.

Earlier this year, the company replaced frozen beef with fresh beef in its Quarter Pounders and rejiggered its Happy Meal offerings with healthier options, like milk.
