Mike Zimmer 'wished' Khalil Mack hadn't gone to Chicago

After all, even with getting two first-round picks in return from the Chicago Bears, they dealt away one of the best defensive players in the NFL. Now, he'll serve in a complementary role to Mack, a scenario that could give the Bears one of the NFC's fiercest pass rushes.

The trade was contingent on Mack signing an extension in Chicago. (Owner) Mark Davis, (executive) Tom Delaney, we all got the information and we made a decision, together.

"It wasn't my goal to trade Khalil when we got here", Gruden said.

Gruden also denies having been involved in any of the day-to-day negotiations. I had nothing to do with it. "We were at a standoff and something had to happen, and here we are".

The Bears then inked Mack to a record six-year, $141 million deal with $90 million guaranteed after acquiring him, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported.

Strawberry Full Moon: How and when to see it
Technically, according to Space.com, the moon was at its farthest point from earth on Thursday night. The moon recently reached its farthest point from Earth in the lunar orbit, also known as apogee.

No matter what a team does, though, Mack is a problem. "He understood that a lot of us were close with him. Jon had a particular set of skills that he did really well, and foremost among them was analyzing the play, breaking down the play, 'Here's why they ran that play, here's why it worked, here's what this guy did or didn't do.' It was really football-heavy, X-and-O-heavy, and I think most play-by-play guys, all play-by-play guys, would've felt like a bit of a bystander".

"I'm anxious to hear this one, Jon Gruden and Khalil Mack talking about the trade", McDonough said.

"It's tough", Gruden said. One of the reasons I'm here is because of him. We wanted to make this a place that free agents wanted to come.

On Monday's Pick Six Podcast, longtime National Football League cornerback Bryant McFadden joins CBS Sports senior writer Will Brinson to get into the real nitty gritty details of the deal, as well as the Raiders' decision to cut wide receiver Martavis Bryant (whom they acquired for a third-round pick on draft day) and trade for former Bills quarterback AJ McCarron. First and foremost of which is the fact that the subtext of that statement is, "that wasn't me, that was the general manager that made that mistake". We would like to have the player stay here. He was under contract. We did not expect this to last as long as it did. And I'll just say what [Reggie] said - I read what he said yesterday - it's a decision that we all came to.

The Vikings will have to play the Bears twice, and it's bad news to an already beat-up offensive line. "I did have contact with him [Saturday], too, exchanging our best wishes to him and thanking him for being a great Oakland Raider".
