Netflix adds three new shows to their sci-fi collection

Well, that is about to change because three new shows have been ordered and one will star Kate Bosworth (yes!).

Bosworth will play a character named KC, starring alongside Natalie Martinez (The Crossing) as Chase and Alex Pettyfer (Magic Mike) playing Brody.

The I-Land will have seven episodes with Bosworth taking on the role of producer. Somewhat of a mix between Lost, Predators, and The Hunger Games, the show follows a group of individuals that wake up on a mysterious island with no recollection of who they are or how they got there. "Faced with the island's extreme psychological and physical challenges, they must rise to their better selves - or die as their worst ones". He'll also direct with Jonathan Scarfe (Van Helsing).

Bosworth is often remembered by genre fans as Lois Lane in 2006's Superman Returns, but she's perhaps best known from her breakout performance as Anne Marie Chadwick in Blue Crush.

The I-Land is one of three sci-fi shows Netflix issued series orders for today, along with October Faction and Warrior Nun.

October Faction, based on the IDW comic book series, follows worldwide monster hunters Fred and Deloris Allen. As the family adjusts, Fred and Deloris must hide their identities as members of a secret organization, and quickly discover that their new small-town setting isn't as idyllic as it seems. Terri Hughes Burton (The 100, Eureka) is co-executive producer and Amy Berg (Counterpart, Da Vinci's Demons) is a consulting producer. James Thorpe, Steve Niles, Thomas Walden, and Eric Birnberg serve as executive producers, with George Strayton (Xena: Warrior Princess) and Melissa Blake (Sleepy Hollow) set to co-executive produce. Meanwhile, John Calvert and Mohamed El Masri will produce.

High Park Entertainment is producing with IDW Entertainment, with the latter also serving as global distributor (except for Canada). The series tells the story of a 19-year old woman who wakes up in a morgue with an artifact embedded into her back and an opportunity to live life again.

Damian Kindler (Krypton, Sanctuary) will serve as The October Faction's executive producer and showrunner at Netflix. She soon learns that she is part of an order that has to fight demons on Earth.
