Nintendo previously revealed that their online service would be launching in the "second half of September" and would cost significantly cheaper than Xbox Live Gold and PlayStation Plus.

Nintendo has announced that the Switch's online service will launch in the USA on September 18 and in the United Kingdom on September 19. Nintendo announced on Wednesday that Nintendo Switch Online memberships will kick off on September 18th, which is less than a week away.

Nintendo UK's tweet also mentioned that there will be a seven-day free trial to begin with. There will also be cloud-based saves.

The U.S. team includes Jack Sock, Sam Querrey, Steve Johnson, Mike Bryan and rookie Frances Tiafoe. Chair umpire, Carlos Ramos , gave Williams three penalties for rule violations during the match.

More details about the service will be revealed in the Nintendo Direct tomorrow. Some of the games that will be available at launch include Dr. Mario, Super Mario Bros. A family plan serving up to eight Nintendo accounts will be priced at $34.99/€34.99 for twelve months.

That said, it's not all rosy: One of the biggest disappointments about the proposed online play of the Switch was that the only way to get voice chat going was apparently via the dubious Switch Online app. Both have offered online services for years, but at a much costlier price.
